Job Title: Principal QC Inspector (Coating and Insulation)

Job Description
To carry out quality control checks for insulation, painting, and coating operations across all project locations.
Ensure all tasks are compliant with specified standards and procedures while assisting EPC Contractors in delivering quality-focused outputs.

Key Duties

  • Report directly to the BN Package Quality Engineer(s)
  • Follow Company HSSE guidelines and safety rules
  • Observe supplier and contractor inspection/test work per approved ITPs and QA plans
  • Drive quality awareness and promote performance improvement initiatives
  • Assist in evaluating Supplier QA documents and inspection plans
  • Confirm safety protocols such as LOTO and PTW are in place
  • Carry out quality reviews at supplier and contractor sites
  • Update inspection results promptly on internal systems
  • Ensure updated drawings, standards, and specifications are being used
  • Liaise effectively with engineering and construction teams
  • Assist Company teams with relevant assignments as needed
  • Confirm executed tasks meet quality expectations through direct inspections or documents

Main Functions

  • Emphasize HSSE policy with all contractors and teams
  • Supervise coating (fireproofing, metalizing) and insulation inspections
  • Check material certificates against specs
  • Ensure all tools and test equipment are up to date and certified
  • Validate proper equipment preservation methods are followed
  • Confirm compliance with Human Factors and layout requirements
  • Witness and record site material inspections
  • Confirm installed fireproofing complies with safety classifications
  • Flag and report counterfeit or substandard materials
  • Perform in-progress inspections per project inspection requests
  • Participate in safety walkthroughs and team quality sessions
  • Monitor and review contractor quality documentation
  • Support internal quality audits when requested
  • Join flaw detection efforts (Flawless Program) and attend project handover walk-downs
  • Raise, track, and verify resolution of quality issues and non-conformance items
  • Advise and collaborate with contractors to fix quality gaps
  • Track quality trends and propose solutions
  • Resolve technical quality issues in coordination with engineering leads

Qualifications

  • B.Sc. or HND in Mechanical, Metallurgical/Materials Engineering, or related
  • At least 12 years in QA/QC, with field coating/insulation experience in oil & gas
  • NACE or SSPC Coating Inspector Certification (min Level II)
  • Familiar with standards (NACE, ASME, ISO, NFPA, SSPC, etc.)
  • Knowledge of audit frameworks (ISO/API)
  • Proficient with inspection tools and visual instruments
  • Strong in team communication and leadership
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office, digital inspection platforms
  • Must be able to multi-task, be self-motivated, and manage documentation efficiently
  • Must have corrected visual acuity of at least 20/40
  • Professional body memberships like COREN or MNSE are a plus

Job Title: Senior QC Inspector (Coating and Insulation)
